Probably the German designer is destined to be her fashion guru: Stella McCartney will be following in Karl Lagerfelds footsteps for the second time since her debut at Chloe in 1997. This time shell be co-working with Swedish fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz, which released Lagerfeld for H&M holiday collection last year.
The collection for H&M women’s division is expected to hit the top H&M stores across Europe, the USA and Canada in time for holiday season.
McCartney actually needs this contract as she has to meet the 2007 deadline to reach breakeven set by Gucci Group, which owns 50 percent of her London-based house.
The $7.3 billion fashion giant spent millions on staging the gigantic fashion extravaganza and concert in NY’s Central Park.
Last month the company also announced their co-work with Italian designer Elio Fiorucci. 100-item line of clothes and accessories will arrive into over 1000 stores next month.
The collaboration with Lagerfeld drew the huge attention to the company last year. The Swedish retailer reported that its profits raised from up to $217 mln.
