Helena Christensen, the unstoppable Danish supermodel who has already tried photography alongside modeling, is to open a new store in New York.

There are only three short days left before the new store opening. A 900-square-foot shop at 605 Hudson Street was transformed from the old bar. High ceiling and brick walls were revealed giving place to the shelves and number of wire hangers. Some French doors from the former bar were left intact.

Helena Christensen chose a floral designer Leif Sigersen, who had owned a store in Denmark for 15 years, as a business partner. “We have exactly the same taste,” said the supermodel of the designer, according to WWD.com.

Sigersen will make a hothouse for flovers and plants at the back of the store in order to separate a space for an office and a sewing room for the clothes Christensen and Sigersen plan to design.

“We’re just trying to show how you can wear things differently,” Christensen, known for her eclectic fashion preferences, said of her store. “Because we dress every day, it’s fun not to be so serious. We found the priest collars at a flea market.”

The model-turned-photographer calls her store “Butik” - an old-fashioned Danish word for specialty store. She is going to sell there clothes and footwear, accessories and jewelry, candles, soaps, perfumes and chocolate.
