Femme fatale Angelina Jolie slams rumors that she was to blame for the split of Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt and former “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston.

“I’ve been painted as the Wicked Witch of the West and a marriage wrecker. But all I’ve ever been to Brad is a shoulder to cry on, ” Jolie told IMDb.com.

“I was there to try to help him through his pain,” she said. “He longs to be a father and he’s been in emotional turmoil for a long time because that hasn’t happened for him.”

Meanwhile, observers are predicting bitter court battles for a Brad and Jennifer who intend to remain friends despite of their split. The possible cause of legal battle could be the fact that former spouses, who own a house, a ranch, a yacht and a film production company, hadn’t signed any pre-nuptial agreement before officially tying the knot in 2000.
