70-year-old designer Giorgio Armani insists he is still too young to retire, but is considering what to do with his company when his time does come. In an interview to Le Monde Armani revealed that he plans a complete sell off as he retires.
The designer says he is not expecting his nephew and niece to take responsibility of the Armani Group, neither does he consider floating the company on the stock market for fear that in may fall in the hands of those who do not always understand the business of fashion.
For Giorgio Armani full sale is the only option, although only on condition that the purchaser understood that the House of Armani must retain its identity and continue employing the team that I set up.
