One half of the Olsen twins Ashley Olsen has filed a suit against The National Enquirer alleging libel and false light invasion of privacy, reports USATODAY. A story published in February 21 issue of the tabloid claimed the 18-year-old actress and her boyfriend Scott Satraino were involved in a drug scandal.

A reported FBI investigation described by The National Enquirer says Satriano, 30, has been accused of drug use and offering cocaine and ecstasy as bribes.

The suit, filed by Ashley Olsen  Monday at the Superior Court says that although the story doesn’t not actually claim that the actress uses or sells drugs, it implies so by publishing a cover photograph of the Olsen twin with her eyes shut, making her appear as if she has been drugged.

"Freedom of the press is a valuable right, but it is not a license for gossipy tabloids to tar and feather innocent celebrities and destroy their reputations and businesses for the rags' profits," the suit, that claimed that the actress "does not use or sell drugs," said.

Ashley Olsen seek $40 million in compensatory damages as well as unspecified  exemplary and punitive damages.
