Designers supported Canadian fashion by donating Toronto non-profit fashion incubator.
On November 10th and 11th, Toronto fashion designers Juma, Karamea and Nada held a sample sale to raise funds for the Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI), an innovative non-profit centre that nurtures, supports and promotes new fashion entrepreneurs. Ten per cent of sales were donated to TFI.
Held at trendy retailer and advocate of Canadian fashions, Boutique Le Trou, the event also featured the work of jewellery designer and goldsmith Jennifer Reilly.

Juma
JUMA is a rapidly growing luxury fashion design company specializing in women’s high-fashion, ready-to-wear dresses, separates and active sportswear. Founded in Toronto, Canada in 2003, the eponymous label JUMA developed by Alia Juma (Design Director) and Jamil Juma (Creative Director) has enjoyed significant expansion in both Canada and the United States. Established in 2004, the label has received extensive media coverage from Elle Canada, Fashion, Style, Toronto Star, Wish and The National Post who dubbed the label “Crowd Pleaser”. In 2005 KARAMEA became a resident label at the Toronto Fashion Incubator, following in the footsteps of many successful Canadian lines. KARAMEA’S Fall/Winter 06 collection was shown at the prestigious TFI New Labels Show at Hazelton Lanes.
Nada
Nada Shepherd is the designing force behind the NADA label, a high-end collection of tailored yet feminine dresses, sportswear and outerwear for today’s contemporary woman. Sensual fabrics and provocative silhouettes accentuate the female form and create chic style statements in fabrications such as silk charmeuse, wool tweed and luxurious cashmere. After debuting in 2004 in TFI’s New Labels Show, NADA moved to a studio at the Toronto Fashion Incubator. National and international media coverage has been garnered in Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), The National Post, 24, NOW magazine and Elle Canada. .
Jennifer Reilly
Jennifer Reilly is a jewellery designer and goldsmith who works in high-karat gold and sterling silver. Each piece of the collection is crafted by hand, using diverse and contrasting design elements. The result is unique and thoughtful designs that become conversation pieces, treasured keepsakes, and instant classics. Jennifer's work has received extensive media coverage and celebrity interest. She has been featured in The National Post, Glow Magazine, Metro News, Now Magazine, Esteem Magazine, and Fashion Magazine proclaimed her to be,"…a hip young designer that is a best-kept secret no longer." Jennifer has been a member of the TFI since 2005.
