The new mom Julia Roberts is making her first film project since she gave birth to her twins Hazel and Phinnaeus two months ago. The Oscar-winning actress will be lending her voice to the main character of Charlotte s Web, a children s book by EB White. In a Paramount Pictures movie Roberts will play Charlotte, a spider, who helps a little girl to save her friend, a pig, from being turned into bacon.
Ten-year-old Dakota Fanning has been invited to play the little girl, Oprah Winfrey will voice a goose, John Cleese will voice a sheep and Steve Buscemi will play a rat, reports Variety.
The actor who will lend his voice to Wilbur the pig has not been announced yet. The novel by EB White has been published in 1952 and has sold 45 million copies since the publication date. An animated version has been made in 1972, however, the new film is said to be a mixture of live-action and animation. The shooting starts in Australia earlier this month.
Roberts, who is clearly enjoying her motherhood plans to shoot another family movie. FashionGates.com has reported earlier that the 37-year-old actress is in talks with the British author Tony Parsons to obtain the film rights to her novel The Family Way. The novel, that Roberts hopes to turn into film, focuses on stories of three women, revealing their motherhood experiences.
