For the 33rd time Elite Model Look held its flamboyant event to discover and honor modeling talents. Some 80 contestants from 50 countries participated in the Elite Model Look 2004 International finals in Shanghai on December 2. 14-year-old Sofie Oosterwaal from the Netherlands has become the winner of this year’s competition, receiving a $150,000 worth modeling contract. Dana Marcolina of the U.S. and Maj Bjerre of Denmark were named the first and second runners-up.

The event, which was held in China for the first time, was sponsored by the skincare creator, OLAY. This year, the New York agency has struggled with lawsuits and a bankruptcy filing. Creative World Management purchased Elite for nearly $8 million.
