Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro gained entry into the Frances prestigious Legion of Honor and was dubbed a knight. The award that recognizes distinguished service to France was presented last Saturday in Paris. Other celebrities who shared the award with the 71-year-old designer, were British actress Kristin Scott Thomas and head of French President Jacques Chiracs ruling Union Nicholas Sarkovsky.
Emanuel Ungaro, head of eponymous fashion house, has long ago become a fixture on the international fashion scene. His colorful and ultra feminine designs have been worn by the likes of Kylie Minogue, star of Charlies Angels Lucy Lui, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, supermodel Liz Hurley, Penelope Cruz and others.
