A Califormia fashion photographer has mixed robotics, laser scanners and digital photography to introduce a new fashion photo era.

Greg Passmore the alternative fashion photographer who became bored with the limits of 2-d world, called his invention “deep photography” The team of specialists worked together to make something completely new – a system that looks more like a sci-fi contraption than a usual fashion photo.

This system helps controlling the relations between objects, light, positions and distance. Such challenges as frizzy hair, too hot light or the wrong background are not a problem anymore. With the help of the 3-d digital photo the art-director gets exactly what he wants without spending money on re-shooting.

The next step of Passmore is the integrated control of light positions and color during the shoot.Passmore insists that his invention frees time for art and design, rather than fighting the limitations of a flat photograph
