The long-awaited reality-competition series Project Runway, judged by supermodel Heidi Klum and brought by Mirimax Television in collaboration with the Bravo network, will kick off on December 1. The series, consisting of 10 episodes, will feature up-and-coming designers, given all the resources of the fashion stars, preparing a show for the New York Fashion Week in February. The aim of the project is to give aspiring fashion artists a chance to break into the capricious business.
Besides German belle Heidi, the panel of judges will include top designer Michael Kors, Elle Magazine fashion director Nina Garcia and fashion news director Anne Slowey. The judges will evaluate 12 amateurs, who will compete week-to week on design challenges and execution of the given tests, gradually cutting down the number of contestants to 3.
The finalists will present their full lines of the catwalk and the winners designs will be photographed for Elle.
