The former Givenchy designer Julien Macdonald is following Matthew Williamson and Tom Ford’s steps in launching a business of his own. Julien Macdonald is setting a swimwear range.

"I've got no plans for my own perfume or anything like that," Macdonald says quoted by British Vogue. "Instead, at the moment I'm working on a beach line - gorgeous bikinis and kaftans and things."

Julien Macdonald admits that summer is his favorite season and he is always inspired by the hot climate. The famous womenswear designer is going to spend this summer traveling to Greece and India. In Mikanos he is making a big party in July. 

"I'm throwing a big summer party in Mikanos in July. I dress a lot of Greek celebrities, like their equivalent of Kylie Minogue, Eli Kokinou, so the Greek Tourist Board have asked me to host a party. It'll be suitably star-studded."

Julien, who was voted the best dressed man in his native Wales by the readers of Western Mail earlier this month, has already launched his new Julien Macdonald Sure Crystal deodorant cans.

"I'm really pleased with the finished product," the designer says of his Angel Fish and orchid-covered designs , set to go on sale for a limited period from June.  “Deodorant's usually so boring, but now we've made it glamorous. And I really stand by the product. I insist my models wear it on the catwalk so they don't get marks on the clothes," he said.
