“Enrique is great. Everything is awesome. We are married,” Anna Kournikova told onlookers at a charity tennis event Dec. 12 in Boca Raton, Fla, according to US Weekly. But have Kournikova and Iglesias really tied the knot, or is the couple deliberately trying to confuse the media?

On Monday People magazine reported the couple are NOT married, while US Weekly has described the romantic wedding on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. People says the couple haven’t been to Puerto Vallarta since mid-October, weeks before their alleged wedding. And the wedding band on Kournikova’s ring finger is just a band that the retired tennis star often wears.

“Anna has a complicated relationship with the subject of marriage,” Us Weekly editor Janice Min told USA Today. “They do enjoy the cat-and-mouse guessing game they put the media through.”

The couple’s publicists refuse to comment on their relationship and clarify the misunderstanding.
