Swedish clothing retailer Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) reported on Monday that its November sales had grown 24 percent compared to the same month a year ago, mostly due to a special collection Karl Lagerfeld had designed for the brand, and which has reportedly sold out within day with very few items remaining in the stores.
The company hasnt so far decided on a repeat sale, but, according to spokesman Carl-Henric Enhoerning, is very pleased with demand for Lagerfelds designs. The Lagerfeld for H&M range was sold in 20 European nations and the US at much lower prices than the regular pricing fashion house Chanel, for which Karl Lagerfeld has been designing for years.
Sadly though, Lagerfeld decided to terminate his cooperation with the Swedish clothing retailer, accusing its management of snobbery for producing minimal numbers of his designs. The German designer was also disappointed by H&M’s decision to produce clothes of larger sizes than he originally intended.
