Fashion King Karl Lagerfeld has agreed to work on the autumn 2004 collection of the Swedish retailer Hennes and Mauritz known for its cheap and trendy clothes.
Lagerfeld, 66, will create about 30 items for H&M, Europe's largest clothing retailer, a spokesperson for the Stockholm-based company said. They will be priced in line with the rest of H&M's range and will be available under the label "Karl Lagerfeld for H and M".
"It is both motivating and exciting to work with Karl Lagerfeld," said H and M's design chief Margareta van den Bosch.
Hennes and Mauritz, that has grown from a small privately owned business to one of the world’s largest clothing chains, has previously used famous models and actors it its ads, featuring the likes of Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Johnny Depp on its billboards.
The line, created by Karl Lagerfeld will be available in the company stores in November.
