Louis Vuitton opened a new boutique in China, Shanghai in response to cheap knockoffs of its handbags flooding world markets . The spacious outlet in the Plaza 66 mall on ritzy Nanjing West Rd. said to be China's biggest luxury brand store. The Superbrand presents traditional range of luxury products: gilt-lined LV steamer trunks and stamped handbags, models in fur-lined coats and stiletto heels, writing utensils , jewelry, watches and different accessories.
Luxury goods makers like Louis Vuitton, Georgio Armani, Gucci, Dior, Prada and other big name brands demanded that China is to crack down on fake products, as counterfeiters operate barefaced throughout the country.
At present, unscrupulous peddlers do not openly display Louis Vuitton bags, providing visitors with catalogues of fake products. Market visitors are chased by sellers of copycat bags, which offer products at prices charged for the real thing.
