The celebrity couple Donald Trump and Melania Knauss, who wed in a 30 minute ceremony are to appear on April 6th at Tavern on the Green for Melanias social debut as a chairwoman of the Martha Graham Dance Companys New York season-opening fund-raising gala.
But before it Slovenian model, who made the headlines with her wedding dress will appear on the cover of In Style Weddings' . The Dior gown, which reportedly took more than 1,000 hours of hand work and weighted about 50 pounds, was in the spotlight again only 10 days after the marriage ceremony in 22 January.
WWD.com quoted the magazines managing editor for specials, Clare McHugh, who was present at the shooting, as saying: “It was amazing what they had us do to make sure the dress remained pristine. For starters, everyone who touched the dress had to first don white cotton gloves.
“In order to get Trump into the 50-pound garment, handlers had to suspend it from scaffolding, bracing her from both sides as they lowered it onto her. Then, to get Trump from the staging area to the actual set, a distance of some 20 yards, eight people had to help with the train. I felt like it was a separate being, almost - an animal that had to be attended to”, said McHugh. “Donald Trump had better hope his new bride is not quite so high maintenance."
As for the charity gala, Melania is sure her husband will accompany her at the event.
"We have plans to come together," she said, according to nydailynews.com. "I hope he will not be too busy."
