Prestigious American magazine Time has already completed their famous Most Influential People of the 20th Century list, which hit the newsstands today, on April 19th. The list ranges from the Dalai Lama to the inventors of the Blackberry, and from terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi to Nobel laureate Nelson Mandela. The name Miuccia Prada, famous creative director of the namesake fashion house is also on the Most Influential list.
"Three seasons ago she launched the frumpy Fifties housewife look, which would rule other designers' runways for several seasons," Kate Betts, who pays tribute to Miuccia in the magazine, says, according to British Vogue.
"In February she stunned the colour-happy fashion industry with an all black collection. Which means that, for now at least, black is the new black."
Mario Prada, Prada's grandfather, founded the family luxury leather goods company in Milan in 1913. In 1978, a reluctant Miuccia assumed the reins from her mother and in 7 years she already created the line of black nylon handbags, that immediately became must-haves for the fashion cognoscenti Vogue reports.
Miuccia was recently voted one of the 30 Most Powerful Women in Europe by the Wall Street Journal.
Among other influential celebrities from 31 different countries are: President George W. Bush, Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, actress Hilary Swank, Ukranian President Victor Yushchenko and "The Da Vinci Code" author Dan Brown.
The magazine made a list last year and will make it an annual project, editors said, according to AP.
