The name of Kate Moss new beau Pete Doherty has been making news headlines almost every day. The Babyshambles frontman who was photographed smoking heroin in his house in London only a few days ago, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault and theft. The 25-year-old musician was taken to a North London police station and remains in custody.
A Scotland Yard spokesman says, "Police were called to a hotel in Peters Lane, London EC1, at 6.20pm yesterday following a report of a man being assaulted.
"A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and theft. He was taken to a north London police station and remains in custody."
The victim Mr. Carlish, 38, who made those documentary pictures of Doherty taking heroin, went to hospital with two black eyes and a busted nose, after refusing to give money to his pal to purchase heroine.
Only a few hours before the incident, Doherty and his rock pals had given the Mirror an exclusive insight into his relationship with Kate Moss, saying the “soulmates” are planning to marry. Kate's reaction to the musicians arrest is unknown yet, however, Vogue says there were contrary reports that she ended her relationship with Doherty by text message a week ago.
The rock musician has a history of troubles with the law. Doherty has already spent 6 months behind the bars for breaking into the house of Carl Barat, his former Libertines bandmate in 2003 and was also given a four months suspended sentence for knife posession in September.
