Tsunami survivor supermodel Petra Nemcova, who clung to a palm tree for eight hours with a broken pelvis during the Asian tragedy on December 26, has been discharged from a Prague hospital where she had been treated for her injuries, reports AFP. The beautiful Czech is making a rapid recovery.

Her health is getting better and better. She can already climb stairs by herself, although she still can't lean on her left foot," her father, Oldrich Nemec told the Czech daily Pravo Wednesday.

25-year-old Nemcova, who appeared on the cover of 2003 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue as well as Marie Claire and Vogue, went to her hometown of Karvina, where she will recover in a mountain chalet owned by her father.

Nemcova’s boyfriend, British photographer Simon Atlee is still listed as missing. The couple was o vacation in Thailand when their bungalow was smitten to pieces by the tsunami wave.
