R&B diva Beyonce Knowles is to dress women in her own exclusive outwear collection by the Christmas holidays. The beautiful Destinys Child star is launching the House of Deréon fashion collection together with her mother, Tina Knowles, who has designed lots of outfits for her daughters group mates. The label was named after Beyoncés grandmother Agnes Deréon, a former seamstress.
"We want to launch an extraordinary outerwear collection for the Holiday season ... the perfect coat to complement our fashion line,” fashionunited.co.uk quoted the singer and actress Beyonce Knowles as saying.
"Beyonce and I are so thrilled to add outerwear to the House of Dereon team! My daughter and I are enjoying every moment as we put together what we hope will be a truly incredible collection for the young women's contemporary fashion market," her mother Tina added.
Beyonce’s design career began in May 2004, when she found Beyond Productions, L.L.C. with Jason and Arthur Rabin and Cory Silverstein of Wear Me Apparel/Kids Headquarters. In January 2005 Beyond Productions announced a deal with Tarrant Apparel Group to produce a line of clothing for women. Earlier this month, another licensing deal was struck with G-III Apparel, to produce an outerwear collection for women.
“As the House of Deréon brand begins to grow, we are proud to have partnered with G-III Apparel Group, a true leader in the outerwear category,” says Cory Silverstein, vice president for Beyond Productions.
“Our goal as a lifestyle brand is to dress our consumer from head to toe with a collection inspired by Beyoncé and designed by both her and her mother Tina. Outerwear is an essential component to the total House of Deréon look.”
