After receiving universal acclaim for his fashion talent, rap mogul Sean Combs, named recently menswear designer of the year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, is focusing on his music career again. The singer is about to go on tour, according to his publicist’s statement, and to assume his P. Diddy persona - the much-expected event for his most loyal fans.
Despite the long break in his music career, Combs has sure been busy over the last two years, since the release of his last album, as much as since launching his record label in 1993. From fashion to music to film P. Diddy has made a huge impact on mainstream culture. The lead in “A Raisin in the Sun” landed him $2.4 million capitalization in only nine weeks on Broadway. His fashion label Sean John consisting of designer jeans and sportswear, menswear, womenswear, loungewear, underwear and boys, won him a 2004 CDFA award. He also operates an upscale restaurant franchise, named Justin's after his son and has made Fortune magazine's, "America's 40 Richest Under 40" list more than just once.
Combs, who hasn’t released an album since his 2002's "We Invented the Remix," on his Bad Boy record label, will launch the Daddy's House Dance Party tour this summer , along with his new CD.
