The hot TV-star and former Playboy model Pamela Anderson joined the animal rights protestors in a boycott of US fast-food empire KFC. Anderson, who is a vegetarian, has shot a 5-minutes long video, produced by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The theme of the video is the mistreatment of chickens that are served in the fast-food chain of restaurants.
Anderson said in the statement: "I'm asking people to boycott KFC until the company demands that its suppliers stop crippling chickens and scalding them alive. No animals should have to suffer this way, whether they're cats or dogs or chickens."
The film can be seen at www.KentuckyFriedCruelty. The 30-second preview will also be available in TV and radio ads all over USA. The video features graphics of birds being cruelly mistreated at a plant that supplies KFC.
The 37-year-old blonde has become the animal rights protector a couple of weeks ago. Earlier this month she also refused to get into the elevator with a woman who was wearing a fur, the fact, which caused the true stir. At that time she was launching the cruelty-free clothing line at Palms hotel in Las Vegas, where the incident happened.
PETA spokesman Dan Mathews said in the statement: "An elevator stopped with two people inside, but one of the women was wearing a fur coat. 'Going down?' the woman asked, to which Pam replied, 'Yes, but not with you, lady. Get rid of the fur.”
