Socialite Paris Hilton missed out on the opening of her Florida-based Club Paris, reports Teen Hollywood. She actually did arrive 6 hours later after having spent a holiday in Switzerland’s Alps. The hotel heiress blamed late-running holiday season planes for holding her back from attending the launch of her $3 million Orlando nightclub.

Instead, her sister Nicky Hilton had to cut the pink ribbon on Thursday to open the club. <[> “I was in the Swiss Alps skiing and I got caught out at the airport with all the holiday travel so I’ve been trying to fly for the past 24 hours.”

“I’m so sorry I’m late.” Paris said in apology.
