Sarah Jessica Parker Shows How to Wear Gap

Sarah Jessica Parker Shows How to Wear Gap

The new ads for Gap due to appear in print this September, feature the company’s new spokesmodel Sarah Jessica Parker wearing the brand’s jeans in a variety of ways. On one pair she ads a velvet ribbon sewn down the legs, on other she cuts the jeans right below the knee and adorns them with ribbons along the hemline. She matches the Gap jeans with a set of creative tops.

The campaign, shot by photographer Mikael Jansson, is called “How Do You Wear It,” and features an 8-page insert with Sarah Jessica playing with various styles and designs to go with Gap jeans.

The 39-year-old actress, crowned “fashion icon” by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, thinks Gap is “terrifically creative,” “timeless, easy, colorful, classic and affordable.”

“For 35 years, Gap has embraced individual style. Asking the world, ‘How Do You Wear It?’ is an invitation for personal expression and a conscious effort to connect the brand more closely with customers,” said president of Gap Gary Muto.

“Sarah Jessica Parker’s innate sense of style is so dynamic and unique that she is the perfect fit for our fall campaign.”

The Gap officials tag Sarah Jessica Parker as “aspirational” but not “unattainable,” which was the main reason they have chosen her to promote for their new stylish and comfortable look.

"Sarah Jessica Parker has huge appeal, not just as an actress but as a real person: she is married, she is a mother - people often see her out and about in New York with her baby son - and she comes across as authentic, which is attractive to people. She is aspirational but not too out of reach or unattainable," says the director behind Gap advertising campaigns Trey Laird.

The ads will appear in fashion and lifestyle magazines such as In Style, Lucky, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair and Vogue.

Other celebrities featured in Gap print campaign include Jada Pinkett Smith, Jessica Alba, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Vartan and Peter Krause.
