The new Pirelli calendar, one of the sexiest sets of photographs produced each year, has been shot by Patrick Demarchelier in Rio de Janeiro, featuring the brightest catwalk stars at their most sultry, reports the British Vogue. Brazilian Adriana Lima embellishes the cover of Pirelli Calendar 2005, as well as appears on its April page.

Naomi Campbell, the only model that ever have appeared in the publication three times, posed for the December page and observed how Rio de Janeiro “reflects the Brazilian people’s energetic and positive spirit”.

16-year-old Brazilian Liliane Ferrarezi, who walked catwalks for the likes of Chanel, Mark Jacobs, Prada and Givenchy, embodies August and is followed by the September girl, Russian model Valentina. The exclusive calendar is not available to buy and is sent only to Pirelli customers and VIPs like the Prime Minister, the President of the United States and Buckingham Palace. This year’s issue is expected to become a valuable collector’s item in a few years, following the example of the 2003 version, shot by Bruce Weber, which was recently sold at auction for ?9,000 ($16,700).
