The first ever Miss Artificial Beauty contest will take place Saturday, December 18 in China, reports DeHavilland Information Services.

Twenty beauties whose search for perfection has prompted them go under the knife, will be competing for the crown. He pageant’s organizers arrived at a decision to hold the contest after one of the candidates for the traditional beauty pageant in May was banned from participation, because she has underwent plastic surgery.

The oldest contestant is the 62-year-old Liu Yulan, who had the surgeon smooth her facial wrinkles and plump her drawn cheeks, says:

“I wanted to convey a message to society -- that the pursuit of beauty is ageless.”
