NBA legend Denis Rodman has come to New York Fashion Week not as a watcher, but as a representative of his provocative PETA ad campaign. People For Ethnical Treatment of Animals (PETA) uses "I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" as their catchword and Rodman is brave enough to impersonate it.
Rodman has appeared naked (except for his tattoos) with the caption “Ink, Not Mink!” and urging: "Becomfortable in your own skin and let animals keep theirs." The billboard ad was unveiled Monday at tents that house designer shows at Olympus Fashion Week in Bryant Park, New York.
The basketball player is the first man to pose naked for PETA’s series, which include Pamela Anderson, Kim Basinger, and Christy Turlington.
Famous basketball player, who owns "Dennis Rodman Foundation", which helps homeless people, watched the video showing how animals live and die before being made into fur coats.
He told FurIsDead.com: "If you actually look at (the video) firsthand, it gives you a different perspective
on animals and how they're treated. It's heart-wrenching to see what they go through."
Rodman’s PETA photos were shoot with fashion photographer Ian Brooks at L.A.’s famed Smashbox Studios. His makeup was done by Autumn Moultrie, his hair styled by Tanya Stine.
