Wimbledon winner Maria Sharapova has revealed her plans to launch a perfume line next year. “I’m excited because it is so different to what I’ve done in the past,” the 17-year-old told The Associates Press. The blond bombshell who threatens to overshadow Kournikova, will step in the footsteps of another renowned tennisist, Gabriela Sabatini, who lends her name to the eponymous scent, and will create her own fragrance.

“The company that I’m working with, we always keep in touch by e-mail because I travel so much. ”says the busy tennis star. “You tell them the smells you like, if you want it to be sweet, things like that. And then the bottle, the colors, the shape. It’s a very interesting process. I haven’t had a sniffing test’ yet, but I will.”

“It’s going to be my own design and something I love to smell, ” The British Vogue quoted the young Russian as saying.

Sharapova has also revealed her ambition to design a fashion line someday.
