Paris menswear fashion week wrapped up last night with a final show by iconic Dior fashion designer Heidi Slimane, famous for fusing heavy metal with classic styles. Slimane who is traditionally sticking to skinny rocknrollers silhouettes, showcased his collection inspired by a romantic look at KISS, at the Atelier Berthier to the soundtrack provided by Razorlight and performed live by 4 original drummers.
Although Slimane stays faithful to his skinny rocker’s ideal, denim was absent from all in this season’s collection. Young long haired models barely in their teens with gold and glitter eye make-up were sporting narrow jackets paired with equally narrow low-waist trousers and wearing Slimane’s trademark knitted sweaters, leather jackets and golden shoes. The outfits were accessorized with extra-long knit scarves.
The guests included Elton John, Yoko Ono, and Karl Lagerfeld who had to go on a stringent diet to fit into Slimane’s skinny trousers.
