The KILL BILL director Quentin Tarantino is now thinking about writing and directing his own version of the world famous Friday the 13th horror film series.
Mr. Tarantino is now negotiating with New Line Cinema, that is ready to produce the future masterpiece. Tarantino is known for reviving the careers of actors and actresses Hollywood had forgotten. In 1994 he brought John Travolta back to life and in ten years he came back for Deril Hannah and David Carradane.
The original "Friday the 13th" released in 1980 and featured the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees, who appeared later on the queue of sequels, including the 2003 hit "Freddy vs. Jason," in which Jason squared off against Freddy Krueger from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series.
According to Hollywood Reporter the New Line Cinema tried to make a sequel to "Freddy vs. Jason" involving the "Evil Dead" character Ash, but there was a problem reaching a consensus with “Dead" rights holder Sam Raimi.
Tarantino is intrigued by the idea of shooting one of the movies’ classic horror villains. The filmmaker, whose credits include "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction," recently signed on to direct the season finale of CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
