Gucci’s ex-designer Tom Ford is not in fashion anymore. Moreover, he clearly doesn’t want to talk about it. The designer whose legendary outfits made “Gucci” the epitome of provocativeness and sexiness, had stormed out of the interview with The Houston Cronicle’s Clifford Pugh after being asked if he watched any spring collections and what he liked.

“Let’s not talk about this. I’m not in fashion anymore. ... I think we're finished with this interview.”

“The work I was doing at Gucci was the best I had ever done,” says Ford. “The reviews during the last two years leading up to my departure were the strongest reviews maybe of my career. But from a personal standpoint it was time for me to leave.”

Ford, who majored environmental design in Parsons School of Design, and whose talents eхtend way beyond fashion, is focusing on movies right now and has opened a production office in LA. Unsurprisingly, his first movie will be about two rival fashion designers ready to resort to all means to surpass each other.

If he does return to fashion design, it’s going to be a fresh start.

“When I left Gucci six months ago, I would have said no, but now that I’ve been gone, I have to say I miss it,” he said. “If I go back, I want to find a new way to go back.”
