Americas Next Top Model, which chronicles the transformation of everyday young women into potential supermodels, is being altered into Britains Next Top Model. The American show will be reformatted for LivingTV in the UK via an exclusive deal with the shows distributor CBS Paramount Intl TV, reports Variety.
The production company will be to make 10-hour-long episodes for the first year of show’s first year run, and the search is already on for the British version of supermodel Tyra Banks who is the creator of the project’ original concept and its executive co-producer.
Richard Woolfe, LivingTV’s director of programs, said, “Once again LivingTV has demonstrated its knack for picking up American shows that really strike a chord with British viewers. ”
“Top Model” is LivingTV’s third major format deal this year. The channel, which is owned by conglom Flextech, has also introduced the makeover of NBC U's “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and is working on Disney’s “Extreme Makeover”, scheduled for airing in February.
