On Wednesday the Gillette Company announced the winner of the Venus Divine “Legs of Goddess” contest, started in June 2004 by model and actress Molly Sims to celebrate the Venus Divine Razor and find the woman with best legs in America. The search included competitions in 10 cities across the US and online entries.

For the second time out of two, a Miami Beach native has become the national winner of the contest. 27-year-old Samantha Thomas, a Nova University student earning a degree in speech therapy, was picked out of almost one thousand women as a possessor of the most beautiful legs. She will receive a “Goddess Giveaway” prize package which includes a Venus Divine-inspired sapphire and diamond necklace designed by M&J Savitt, a trip for four to a tropical resort, and the chance to appear in a Gillette Venus commercial. The prize package is valued at $30,000.

Celebrity choreographer and actor Cris Judd, and a scout from Karin Models, an international modeling agency, seeked for confident and enthusiastic women with shapely and toned legs and a good overall appearance. “The contest was a great way to show that you don’t have to be a supermodel to have great legs,” said Nancy Teumer, business director for female shaving at the Gillette Company, reports Stockhouse. “Throughout the summer, women of all ages walked the runway, demonstrating their inner and outer beauty. Any woman who has confidence and poise can feel like a goddess!”

Contest guest judges included sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff, “America’s Next Top Model” winner Yoanna House and Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, who made appearances at contest events throughout the summer
