David and Victoria Beckham may have to rename their newly-born son Cruz due to the name’s gender ambiguity which is prohibited by Spanish civil law. The couple have been mocked by media for giving the boy a girl’s name.

"David and Victoria were quite hurt when people laughed at their choice of Cruz as a name. After all, a birth is supposed to be such a happy time,” Contactmusic.com quoted a source close to the Beckhams as saying.

"They'd thought long and hard about the name, so to now learn they may have to alter it will not go down well.”

However, it seems Victoria has other things to be preoccupied with, preparing her new clothing line said to be launched later this year.

The new line, VB, will include a full range of cropped trousers, skirts, jackets and shorts, according to femalefirst.co.uk. The wife of Real Madrid captain wants to continue her successful last-year’s project of designing jeans for Rock and Republic, which turned out to be a big hit at top London store Harvey Nichols.

The 30 year-old is also said to be designing a handbag collection for fashion label Samantha Tharasa.

In addition to creating fashion collections, ex-pop diva is also cooperating with the beauty company Coty, launching Beckham Beauty House and planning to release his and her fragrances in the nearest future.

Meantime, another famous and raunchy singer Christina Aguiera criticized all those celebrities who start their own fashion lines and expressed no desire to launch hers, seeing it as a sign of a flagging career.
