Ex-spice-girl Victoria Beckham has added her name to the roster of celebrities, striving to become fashion designers. After signing a deal to create a new denim collection with a label Rock and Republic, the pregnant singer, who says she has always been interested in fashion, is set to co-design jeans, skirts and exclusive knits.
Being involved with Rock & Republic in this way, creatively, behind the scenes is something I'm really looking forward to, says the 30-year-old.
The label, whose clothes have been seen on the likes of Cameron Diaz, Usher and Avril Lavigne, has signed up Beckham after she has proved her creative ability while hitting off with the designer Michael Ball in Los Angeles in May. Rock and Republic insists that the singer’s involvement includes more than just adding a name to a limited edition collection.
Creatively, Victoria has the ability and understanding to capitalize on a certain look, says Michael Ball.
She not only understands fashion and trends but has been a trend-setter and fashion icon for years.
Victoria will be making promotional appearances for the upcoming collection during Fashion Weeks in LA, London and Tokyo.
