Israeli designer Ronit Zilkha surprised the viewers on the opening day of London Fashion Week, by endowing Britains modeling sensations Rachel Hunter and Jodie Kidd with distinctly alternative images, reports hellomagazine.com.
The two models looked barely recognizable with new hairdo’s and make-up styles created by Ronit’s team of hair and make-up artists. Jodie’s usually radiant complexion looked pale as a sheet under layers of white powder. The hair of two catwalk vixens was pulled up and styled into frizzes as they sported loose gowns made of chiffon and decorated with floral prints.
The poll on hellomagazine.com leaves up to us to decide if the new style was “deeply unflattering”, or whether Ronit “discovered a whole new dimension” to Rachel’s and Jodie’s beauty. So far there are two conflicting opinions, but for Ronit, who is one of the most established figures on the British fashion scene and doesn’t care about winning applause, the whole experiment seems to be a matter of art for art’s sake.
The designer’s clientele has included Julia Roberts, Cherie Blair and Geri Halliwell. Hollywood star Juliette Lewis and singer Sophie Ellis Bextor came to see her latest collection at LFW. Ronit Zilkha has seven shops in the UK and 11 concessions in department stores and showrooms in London and Paris.
